With her interest in Physics and mathematics Dr. Rohini secured 1st rank during her BSc from Pune, following which she grasped a position in IIT Bombay. In the year 1979 she was awarded Ph.D from S.U.N.Y. in U.S.A. She is one of an excellent Indian Women Scientist in Physics, ans since more than two decades she is a professor in the Indian institute of Science in Bangalore. 

Her interest lies in High Energy Physics which is dedicated to research in the field of elementary particle physics and quantum field theory. She has published a textbook on “Phenomenology of Supersummetric particles’ for researchers in January 2005. Its second edition was selected in World Scientific Publishers as one of the significant titles in High Energy Physics. 

Apart from her interests in Physics, she loves chit chats with young aspirants. She is an enthusiast when it comes to women in science in India and has given several empowering talks about young women in science.

With several prestigious awards in hand, She has received the fourth highest civilian award in the country, in the field of Science and Nuclear Engineering I.e Padma Shri Award.
