One or Two Ph.D. (including integrated MS and PhD) positions are open in the School of Mechanical Engineering graduate program at Kyungpook National University, Daegu, South Korea.

We are looking for qualified candidates to conduct research on both practical and theoretical aspects of the vehicle control application towards developing the verifiable and reliable control methods for autonomous driving and vehicle electrifications.

Especially, (1) Energy optimization of electrified vehicles, and (2) safe-and-robust optimal control of the autonomous vehicles (robotics) are considered topics to the new PhD student.

We offer a competitive salary considering living costs, including social benefits. The preferred candidates will have a background in model predictive control, numerical optimization, learning-based controller design (e.g., reinforcement learning, imitation learning), and an interest in developing theory that is effective in control applications. The candidate is expected to hold a BS/MS degree in control engineering or a related subject specializing in control. The intended start date is March 1, 2023.
