Project title:
Gender Equality and Social Inclusion by Design

Project Brief:
The project is a collaboration between Qatar University and Hamad bin Khalifa University. In this project, we study how to mitigate issues related to Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) in social media in Qatar and the Arab world and increase awareness of them. We will use digital nudging techniques based on annotation and a bespoke set of reactions and emojis and devise tools to facilitate a structured dialogue. The aim is to encourage a more civilized and inclusive language and interaction.

Ph.D. studentship:
We have one 3-year Ph.D. studentship. The studentship is part of a collaborative project between Hamad bin Khalifa University and Qatar University and is funded by Qatar National Research Fund ( Grant NPRP14C-0916-210015 ). The studentship will be in the College of Science and Engineering at HBKU.
